  • Olive oil(2 tbsp)
  • Thyme(1 tsp)optional

  • Black pepper(¾ tsp)
  • Lettuce(1)
  • Tomato(2)
  • Lemon(1)

Method

    Thinly slice {Onion}, slice {Mushroom}, grate {Cheddar cheese}, shred {Lettuce}, and chop {Tomato}.

    Heat {Butter} and {Olive oil} in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add {Onion}, {Mushroom}, {Thyme}, {Salt}, and {Black pepper}. Cook, stirring often, until the mushrooms are softened and the pan looks mostly dry, about 8 minutes.

    Pile the mushroom mixture onto 4 slices of {Bread}, top with {Cheddar cheese}, and close with the remaining 4 slices of {Bread}. Return the sandwiches to the pan and toast, pressing lightly, until golden on both sides and the cheese has melted, about 3 minutes per side.
